Igniting Student Interest In the Wake of ACE’s and Anxiety
Session 1 Foundations

Learn how to utilize a simple template congruent with all content areas connecting classroom-home-community applying evidenced-based neuroscience to brain-based education strategies developed over a conglomerate of 20 years. Effective on elementary, middle, secondary, and adult levels.
Prerequisities: Foundations session prior to Methods session
Session 1 Foundations: Using small group discussion and guided hands-on instruction participants will:
Arrive at cycle of symptoms, causes, and process of disconnection/anxiety, Create a basic strategy in getting to know your student audience/student voices, Define safe/comfortable environment and list necessary steps in creating one, List essential elements that make up a 'pedagogy of plenty', Formulate their understanding of neuroscience, Understand correlation between language of limbic system and executive functions, Be introduced to the strategy of bring joy back in to learning by employing Student Empowering Themselves (S.E.T.): Going for the Magic! Components: Positive Behavior, Accommodation, Modification, Adaptation Component, Early Onset of Mental Illness.

Thursday, October 24, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Session 2 Foundation Methods, Using small group discussion and guided hands-on instruction participants will: Apply foundational knowledge, Define criterion-referenced and real world applications, Learn how S>E>T> offers building skill sets of communication, problem solving, collaboration/team building, trust, leadership, evaluation, and processing, Express in writing and share how to ignite student interest by empowering them, Review limbic system and learn about the inspiring magic of S.A.M.'s, Apply knowledge gained in this training by Creating scenario integrating S.E.T. and student orchestrated activities that relates to their specific classroom.  Components: Positive Behavior, Accommodation, Modification, Adaptation Component, Early Onset of Mental Illness.
